His art training began with Gyorgy Kepes in the architecture department of M.I.T. He then studied art at New York University under Myrwyn Eaton and Samuel Adler, and received a degree in Aesthetics. He moved to NYC and studied with the Roosevelt artists Gregorio Prestopino and Ben Shahn at the Brooklyn Museum Art School, and later with them in their studios. He has published four books, one on the relation between science and art. He has also written novels and books of poetry, all unpublished. He continues writing novels and articles on aesthetics. Bob is also studied the flute and recently organized a symphony orchestra which he conducts, and with guest conductors plays flute.
He married Diana Lobl, a Roosevelt resident, and did puppeteering with her until she became a lawyer. They have two Children: Erik Thomas Mueller, who has his UCLA doctor of philosophy in computer science, and whose dissertation is "Daydreaming In Humans and Machines," a computer model of the stream of thought, published in 1990 by Ablex Publishing Co.; and Rachel Ann Georgette Mueller-Lust, who has her doctorate in Cognitive Science from U Santa Cruz, and who presently is director, methodology research at Nielsen (soon to be Cognizant) in NYC, and is married to Andy Mueller-Lust, a structural engineer who works for Sevarud in NYC.
