Reiko Uchida, piano Born Los Angeles, Uchida graduated from the Curtis Institute, Mannes College, and the European Mozart Academy. Elected to the prestigious Lincoln Center Chamber Music Society Two in 1996, she has toured with chamber ensembles in Japan, France, Hungary, Germany, and the Czech Republic, and has participated in the Taos and Marlboro Festivals. She was a featured pianist at Contemporary Music Weeks in Tanglewood, where she won Festival Awards. She has been featured in recitals at the White House, Alice Tully Hall, the Metropolitan Museum, Carnegie Hall, and Miller Theatre. Uchida has long been involved with the performance of new music. Recent collaborations have been with Bruce Adolphe, Anthony Newman, and, along with Deborah Bradley, she participated in the European premiere of Lou Harrison’s opera Rapunzel in Budapest.
