have been forced to work for tiny salaries recently. Our having engaged them for this concert helped provide much needed funds, given not as charity but as fully earned artists’ fees. Furthermore, performing a Holocaust memorial composition in a city that still harbors anti-semitic attitudes was a definite political and human-rights statement through music.  In addition, during this tour Deborah Bradley performed a concert of Russian piano music in Saint Petersburg.

A second tour took place in October 1999. It included appearances at the Musica Judaica Festival in Prague and the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. For the Prague performance, Moebius engaged Czech musicians to join in a performance of Echoes from the Holocaust, by American composer Joel Feigin.

Moebius performed in Bucharest and Yerevan (Armenia) on its third international tour, in June 2000.
