Akoustikats

The Akoustikats, previously known as The Roadhouse Ramblers performed on and off for about 15 years in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. The group featured Brian Buckley on guitar and vocals, Bill Jeffrey on bass, and Jeff Terflinger on violin, mandolin, and vocals. I rounded things out on the mandolin, guitar and harmonica and occasionally sang as well. Laura Hasek on violin, Jamie Wells on mandolin and fiddle, and Dan Sell on Sax, Flute, and Arp synthesizer also performed with the band at various times.

The group bounced around from bar to bar and developed a devoted local following and a large catalogue of original compositions by Brian Buckley and Terry Pender. Unfortunately they did little in the way of recording. A smattering of short 2 or 3 tune sessions and a stack of live performance cassettes is about all that’s left, but boy, it sure was fun! Over the next few months I’ll get some Ramblers and Akoustikats music converted to mp3s and add them to the site.
