Brad Garton Writing
I have divided this page into four main categories:
There is a lot of overlap in these areas, and I have most certainly
left out some papers that are probably gone gone gone... such is life.
I've tried to give the original publication information when possible
(i.e. when I could recall it). When I've been able to locate
the paper and link it here, I've also tried to preserve the original
formatting. Sometimes I gave up and only used the plain text, however,
for a few of the original word-processing applications I used are also gone
gone gone...
reports/technical
Most of these papers were written about particular computer-music research
topics I was exploring, or they were reports on the Computer Music Center.

A lot of tutorials, etc. as well as the basic documentation for the
language. Several others (John Gibson, Dave Topper, Chris Bailey, etc.)
also contributed to this.

commentary
I discovered the joys of becoming earnest and strident
and writing about the Evils of Evil Stuff. The following papers
comment on aspects of doing computer music, being a composer,
living life, that don't fall into a specific conference or concert/performance
review. Tempted as I was to edit a few of these, I decided to keep
them in all their preachy glory. I'll probably continue to write more;
there is a lot wrong in the world!
My Music Book
My Music Book web page, Spring 2002
Even though I have this listed as one of my "music" applications,
there is a lot of text in the book itself. I talk about what
music means to me, how it works, how I compose, etc.

political
These are articles I wrote for our local newspapers about very local
politics. They probably won't make sense to anyone not familiar
with Roosevelt, New Jersy, but I get a real trip-down-memory-lane
kick from reading them. So here they are.

These are items that I couldn't really shoe-horn into any of the above
categories. Probably I shouldn't have included these at all, but they
seemed kind of fun. I figure this is mainly for me to read in my
Old Age anyhow, so here they are.
In general I'm sure I'm missing articles. I didn't really keep very good
track of things.
