From Source to Sound: the Interpretation of Early Renaissance Music

Methods, procedures, and problems posed in attempting to recreate the written musical repertories of the 14th and 15th centuries. This course fulfills the requirements of either the 3000-level advance theory elective or the nontonal repertoire course (not both) for the Major.

The prerequisites for this course are C1123 or F1123 Masterpieces of Western Music or BC 1001x or 1002y Introduction to Music, or equivalent, and the ability to read musical notation.
