Columbia University Orchestra Event, “Music from the Inside, an X-RAY View”
The Columbia University Orchestra and Music Director Jeffrey
Milarsky will host a series of two open rehearsal/performances for the
entire Music Humanities department and all participants. These
events, which will be held in Roone Arledge Auditorium, will be an exciting view into the art of musical performance and how musicians prepare and present these masterpieces of Western Art.
Students will sit completely around the CUO, surrounding the ensemble for perfect viewing and perfect listening. The students will see the inner workings of a full symphony orchestra, how it operates, who leads, the decisions made. In addition, the knowledge of musical styles and history is crucial and important information for the CUO members and the students of Music Humanities. Musicality being born.
This event is FREE and open to the Columbia University Community.
