CU Orchestra

The Columbia University Orchestra gives students the opportunity to perform in an ensemble of the most challenging nature possible. Performing several concerts per year, the CUO draws members from the entire Columbia community. Auditions will take place during the first week of fall semester.  Auditions will take place in 809 Dodge Hall and one may register for an audition time on the bulletin board next to that room.  Advance sign-up is required.Audition requirements are as follows:*Short solo of choice*Sight-reading from the upcoming season’s repertoireStudents and faculty from all Columbia divisions are invited to audition. As the CUO is an official course within the Department of Music, undergraduates will receive 2 credits per semester if accepted into the Orchestra. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM with occasional extra rehearsals on Thursday evenings or Saturdays.Under the direction of Music Director Jeffrey Milarsky, the Columbia University Orchestra will present yet another year of precision music making.
