Vicki Bodner

Vicki Bodner is solo oboist with Orchestra New England, Ufonia, The Music Project, Musical Elements, Arcadia, Sarau Brasileira, with John Zorn and records for films and television in NY and LA. On Broadway she was the oboist for Beauty and the Beast, The Secret Garden, King David and for Villa Lobos' "Magdelena" at Lincoln Center. She has been a featured soloist on National Public television and radio, network television, at the Pearl Harbor Museum, on MTV has toured extensively both as a chamber musician and soloist and premiered many new works. She has also recorded with artists as diverse as Marilyn Horne, Anthony Newman, Dawn Upshaw, Butch Morris, Marc RIbot, The Emerson Quartet, Michael Convertino, Daniel Asia, John Zorn and Benjamin Verdery. Festival appearances include Aspen, Next Wave, Bang on a Can, Waterloo, Caramoor, Rome, Seville, White Mountains, Princeton Chamber Music, Oregon Bach, Yale Starlight, Virginia Arts and at the International Festival of Arts and Letters with Terence Blanchard and Spike Lee.
Vicki is currently a professor of oboe at NYU, has previously been on the faculty of Wesleyan University and has taught master classes in Brazil and Italy. She studied at the the Juilliard School.
